PLANT LIFE: THE KRYNOID INCURSION
The TARDIS lands on silo station one where a team of botanists studying the impressive plant life of the Congo Basin. However, two members of the team go missing and the Doctor is sure that there is something else roaming the jungles. The Botany team refuse to leave, one of the team, Kevin becomes infected by Krynoid DNA.
The Doctor struggles to complete the impossible task of saving the man's life as the others go in search of Harker. But will the team leave the planet alive? When Kevin becomes a Krynoid and prevents the Doctor and the others from escaping. Will they be able to leave alive? Or will they endanger the human race by bringing back one of the most deadly plant-based life forms the universe has seen?
Plant Life becomes our enemy. The Krynoid is a form of intelligent plant life that feeds on animals. On planets where the Krynoid takes hold, animal life becomes extinct. It can infect an animal with its spores, causing the "host" creature to mutate into a Krynoid, which retains some of that host's knowledge, memory, and intelligence. The Krynoid is also able to transfer some of its power to the local vegetation, making plant life hostile and deadly. No one knows for sure how Krynoid plant pods travel through space. One theory is that their planet of origin is volcanic, and the pods are shot out (in pairs) by the eruptions.
