MORTAL KOMBAT | Kombat Pack

Mortal Kombat 11 | Kombat Pack

It was a very exciting time back in late August this year for Mortal Kombat fans and video gamers alike.

It was common knowledge from June that we would be getting Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Sindel, and Spawn as new additions to the MK11 roster. But who actually managed to guess correctly who the other two guest characters would be?

The Trailer

I was excited to see a full reveal trailer announcing who all the characters in the Kombat pack would be. The new characters we did get, I wasn't expecting, and actually came as a very nice surprise. It was also helpful for release dates to be included at the end of the trailer, so we as the viewer know when to expect a release date for each character.

It seemed like we had quite a long wait for Nightwolf before we got any inkling from Ed Boon on Twitter as to when we would even see a trailer for him.

What Does The Mortal Kombact Pack Include?

The Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack includes the following:
  • 6 New Upcoming DLC Playable Characters
  • Shang Tsung – Available Now
  • Nightwolf - Available Now
  • Terminator T-800 - Available from the 8th October 2019
  • Sindel - Available from the 26th November 2019
  • Joker - Available from the 28th January 2020
  • Spawn - Available from the 17th March 2020
  • 1 Week early access to all DLC character listed above - providing the users own premium editions of MK11 and are kombat owners

  • 6 Themed Skin Packs including: Klassic Ninja Skin Pack, Klassic Arcade Fighter Pack, and 4 more addition skin packs to be released alongside Terminator, Sindel, Joker, and Spawn.

SPAWN

Last year, there was a lot of popular demand from people on the internet wanting Spawn to be released as a guest character in Injustice 2, this was not to be, however, it would appear that NetherRealm take on board what the fans say and listen because sure enough, Spawn will be appearing in Mortal Kombat as a guest character.

In some ways, I think MK suits Spawn better. The reason being is that there are certain restrictions in the Injustice games which prevent the player from doing finishers such as Fatalties, and Brutalities. Certain attack moves which will benefit this character much more being in Mortal Kombat.

It is good to see that we're finally going to be getting Spawn, even know I don't know much about him as a character.

TERMINATOR T-800

Terminator was on my bucket list as a character to be released as a DLC, I wasn't expecting him to be in this pack.

Detail wise, he looks incredible. The attention to detail and likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger is spot on and the attention to detail from head to toe is uncanny. It is a shame however that Arnold Schwarzenegger will not be voicing Terminator in MK11.

They've gone for this Terminator Genisys look, as this is Terminator T-800.

I can't wait to see what his fighting technique is going to be like, and rest assured, this is by far my favourite character of the Kombat Pack. I look forward to the 8th of October.

JOKER

Out of all the characters that were announced, this was definetly the most surprising. It coule be to do with the fact that there is a new Joker movie coming out and this does well with the publicity of that movie, or it could be that NetherRealm simply want to give Joker a shot at appearing in a new franchise.

He will be a lot of fun to explore and play with, I'm sure the game developers will have a lot of fun adding in new tricks and features which will wow us in this reveal trailer. Although I feel confident that Joker will not disapoint and that his fatalities will be enjoyable to watch.

Also, he comes out the day after my birthday, so he'll make a nice birthday present. Thanks NetherRealm!

SINDEL

The first glimpse we got of Sindel, was a tweet posted back in July from Ed Boon which simply read : The 7 Deadly Sin-dels, with an image of Sindel coming out of the dark.

I know of this character, because she appeared in MKX in the story mode. She was not a playable character, however, I am delighted to have the oppertunity to play as Sindel. It will be interesting to see how she interacts with the other characters like Kitana, and Shao Khan.

As I've seen a little of her, I can hazard as guess as to how her fighting technqiues will be like.

As the only female character in this kombat pack, it is a little bit a let down of the lack of female characters, however that is just a passing comment. It has no reflection on Sindel being in the game as far as I am concerned. She looks excellent, and I'm sure she will be a welcome edition come November.

MORTAL KOMBAT 11 KOMBAT PACK

All in all, I think is a very impressive fighter pack. No complaints from me, I think we have a lot to look forward to and enjoy, and it will entice my enjoyment of playing the game even more for those reasons.
