SERIES 2 EPISODE 3 "ATTACK THE DALEKS"
OUT IN JANUARY
SYNOPSIS: A power failure in the TARDIS draws it off course, and the Doctor and Pip end up stranded on a bleak planet with no name. They soon meet members of a tourist expedition in a similar situation. The tourists have lost their way and team up with the Doctor and Pip to find a way of what's draining their power and avoid some other unexpected visitors - the Doctor's oldest enemies, The Daleks.
NOTES: The first time I saw Death to the Daleks was in 2008. I can remember watching it and thinking "this a bloody good story" and it shows the daleks in a new light and gives the daleks something different to do in that being they have to work with human beings because their guns don't work. I took inspiration from "Death to the Daleks" and applied it into this story. I just wanted to show off the daleks being quite pathetic and getting their arses kicked
its quite entertaining to bring their status down really low for a change and not have them as these dominating terrorists. In no way did we set out to copy "Death to the Daleks" we just wanted to bring every character down to the same level and not have a whole "fear the daleks" kind of thing because people can get quite sick and tired of that.
I wanted to have everybody stranded on a distant planet, with no food or water. Have them feel there is no hope at all. Give the inhabitants of the planet an advantage against the invaders or the visitors to the planet. There's some interesting and entertaining dynamics which have never been tried before in my doctor who's so Attack the Daleks is going to be something new for everyone, taking inspiration from one of the best dalek stories there's ever been.
