A look into the up coming Doctor Who Action Figure Adventures, coming soon on my channel this autumn.
Just a quick update to say that filming for projects should start proper next week for a run of stories to finish off the Doctor Who run for the rest of this season.
It's mainly Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker stuff, but at the end of November is a special treat for you, just to take a breather. It's a dabue doctor story with Colin Baker, four part serial written by myself. 'Phantasmagoria'. What's it about? You'll find out. But today I'd like to talk about 'Destiny to Infinity'.
Destiny to Infinity is the one of two fourth doctor stories set up for the autumn/winter season. In terms of coming up with story concepts for new adventures. The Input that I had the idea in my head for this was along the lines of The Doctor being somewhere before, and has made a tremendous impact on the civilization of the Eco-colony and a tremendous impact it was because he comes back with Leela and as time evolved he is worshiped as a god. But is it a good thing or is it a bad thing?
"Synopsis"
The Doctor takes Leela to the planet Dowlas, for an educational trip to show her one of the most Eco-friendly, successful colony only to find that the planet's ecological climate has shifted slightly, and has resulted in the planet becoming a dececrated Ice waste land. The Doctor's curiosity grows when he realises that the eco-colony worship a great god in the form of the statue like The Doctor.
In the mines of the planet, the work force have become slaves to this god. In the image of The Doctor, known only as the mysterious 'Infinity'. Infinity is the commander of the Minions who control the slave force underneath the catacombs of Dowlas.
For the first time in his life. The Doctor confronts 'Infinity' in order to correct a mistake he made when he was on Dowlas before. A very long time ago.
"Writers Notes"
It may interest some of you to know that I actually had the orginal outline idea for 'Destiny to Infinity' back in October 2013, orginally scheduled to go into production by December 2013. Sadly that didn't happen and 'Dalek Wars' took its place. Which wasn't a bad story, it was very well recieved and It's a nice two parter.
Orginally I wanted to create a new 'fourth doctor' enemy for Tom's Doctor to face, only to have the story end with a question mark over what this enemy 'Infinity' was and why it was there. And that there would be a further problem for the doctor to solve and things for him to find out in a later story.
And one day when I was developing 'Sylvester McCoy - Seventh Doctor' stories, I saw that as my oppertunity to fit in the sequel. but more on that another time.
As far as story goes when I was writing 'Destiny to Infinity' along with two close friends James Morrison and Dan Cooper, we had watched various Tom Baker stories in his early days, especially ones with Leela just to get an understanding of the sort of season 14/15 time for reference. Belive me references do help when clueless about writing a new story.
The story may seem a bit difficult to follow, there are a lot of loose ends in this. I admit that this is a story you will have to actually sit down and watch. It's not something you can just click the play button and enjoy no matter what mood you're in. It's a thinking one this one. So thinking caps on guys. Just giving you a heads up!
