Doctor Who Action Figure Adventures - The Phantoms of X Space

A look into the new series of Doctor Who Action figure stories coming soon.

"The Phantoms of X Space" - Starring Tom Baker

"Words from Dan"

The Fourth Doctor returns for another adventure which awaits him out in space. Season 18, It's a season of Doctor Who I think is a bit hard dunby in terms of deliverance.

I'm not a huge fan of Tom Baker's final season. But what it did do was bring Tom Baker's long era to an eventful end and round things off nicely and most importantly, It brought Doctor Who into the 80's.

I watched previous stories from Tom's last season whilst researching for this story. In the script writing process, I rounded up all my rough notes to form the script.

It's a technique which rarely comes to mind, but working on this particular story was like working out a jigsaw puzzle. Finding out what pieces worked out where, and what I could and couldn't do.

In the end I came up with the concept for 'Phantoms of X Space' and started writing. The story stars, The Fourth Doctor, Sani, Milo and K9.

"Synopsis"

The story goes that on their mission to explore the Marina Whirlpool at the vast depths of space, the crew of the space vechile make an unusual and starling discovery. A battered old police box.

As the Doctor, Sani, Milo and K9 join them on their journey, the crew soon discover that the TARDIS is not the only unusual thing they find lurking the vast depths of space. Super Intelligant crystalline stars, long lost space mariners and their miraculous occupants are only the start of their troubles. The Astronights of space are coming, and they won't let anyone leave their area of space, alive.

It's sinister in some ways because you can't question what will happen. I just wanted to do a space travel story.

I think NASA and whole space travel thing is a bit under minded in some ways and perhaps we should pay more attention to astronomers, and look a bit deeper into the vast depths of the universe we live in.

And this story I hope will reflect those veiws, obviously it won't be completely factual. But just about enough to arouse peoples interests in Space Travel and how life in space is very different to how it is here on Earth.
