MK11 - The Future of Kombat League

Over the last few days Twitter has been going mental with new screenshots of upcoming skins to be released from Kombat League sets coming very soon. When Season 13 started on the 11th August, MK11 released this image on their social media showcasing some of the new skins as a teaser for us as something to look forward a little later on.

I'm not one who is a bit fan of kombat league, I do think it still has a lot of problems and isn't that much fun, but if you want to see my full opinion on that then do check out the blog post that I wrote several months back explaining what it is I specifically don't enjoy about kombat league and how it can be improved.

This post is specifically about the new skins and future upcoming seasons - The future of kombat league.

The next few season titles are as follows - The Season of the Hive, The Season of the Saurian Rebirth, and the Season of Lawlessness. Skins like the ones shown in the picture above, plus many more. Shoutout and big thank you to FGC_KingE on Twitter for posting and sharing these screenshots with us, giving us an inside preview of what is store for us when these new seasons go live.

All these skins look absolutely amazing, and I'm looking forward to getting involved with the new seasons where we can have a chance to earn these new skins.

We will start with the Season of Saurian Rebirth. New Reptile style skins will be available for Scorpion, Jade, Kung Lao, and Noob Saibot. Check out the screenshots below.

My favourites of this season are Jade and Noob as stand outs, but Scorpion and Kung Lao look really nice as well and I like that there has been some re-tooling done to the original costume to make it look just that slightly different compared to other skins we've had released in the past. I'm generally really pleased with all of these skins, It'll be interesting to see who will be at Demi God rank for this season, I have a feeling it may probably be Noob given he was at Demi God rank in Season 8, however I could be mistaken.

One of the other seasons is The Season of Lawlessness.

Skins of Sindel, Johnny Cage and Cassie Cage were previewed from this and I mistook it as a kind of medieval themed skins going on, perhaps with the metal cased arms and the black dragon logo on Johnny's vest. He could be mistaken for knight. Red, Black and Silver colour scheme. Johnny and the black dragon logo isn't something one would originally expect to see but it does add a certain uniqueness to these skins.

What surprised me the most was the fourth character skin in this set and it's Sub Zero. He looks good with the red, the black, and the silver.

Sindel is the big stand out for me, I'm very pleased that DLC characters will start to get skins released in kombat league.

So there you have it. The Season of Lawlessness will include new skins for Johnny and Cassie Cage, Sindel, and Sub Zero.

And last but certainly not least is the season of the hive, kytinn style skins for Baraka, Skarlet, Kabal, and Kotal Kahn.

For a start we have Kotal Kahn looking like a beetle. It's probably one of the weirdest looking skins I've seen and has him looking a bit out of sorts. I wasn't sure if this suited him as this isn't something you wouldn't normally expect to see. It's basically the result of what would happen with Kotal and D'Vorah had a baby.

Then we have Kytinn Skarlet which I really like, definitely my favourite kombat league skin for her so far. It looks good in yellow with the Kytinn colours, however I believe the red is far more superior and stands out much better as the more appealing.

Kabal looks better than ever, he does look good with the Kytinn theme. I had wondered when we might see a new skin for him in kombat league and now we have one. I like the look of him in the screenshot of him with his mask off but the skin with the mask on also works well.

And possibly my favourite of this set Baraka, who was slayed by D'Vorah has been brought back to life and has become part of the Hive. It looks incredible.

All to play for in the next coming seasons.

So there we have the next three seasons of Kombat League and their skins revealed. Again we have, The Season of the Hive, The Season of Saurian Rebirth, and the Season of Lawlessness.

Netherrealm studios have done an excellent job of redesigning some of the skins to fit in well with the themes. I suppose I shall have to up my game and work hard to ensure I climb up to those God ranks as you got to be in it to win it.

MK11 - Klassic Femme Fatale Skin Pack

MK11 - Klassic Femme Fatale Skin

Hey everyone

The newest skin pack from the MK11 Aftermath is available from today and it's the Klassic Femme Fatale skin pack set which includes new skins for Kitana, Skarlet, and Jade.

From the looks of things, we're getting more of an MK9 feel with these new skins as it would seem that NetherRealm studios do listen to their fans and do give them what they want. This are skin sets people have been wanting for ages, and now from 6pm today they will be available to download on console, PS4 and Xbox.

I like the look of these and certainly not what I was expecting to see. I was thinking Sindel may possibly be included in this skin pack, and I know some people were expecting to see Cassie Cage or Sonya Blade.

It's something different and certainly adds something new to the game and I'm sure lots of fans will be very pleased by this and looking forward to playing and checking out these skins in more detail.

MK11 - Summer Heat Skin Pack

MK11 - Summer Heat Skin Pack
Coming August 6th

Hey everyone

It seems that the NetherRealm Studios have a surprise in store for us as they have just released the second of four new skin packs coming as part of the MK11 Aftermath expansion pack.

This skin pack is called Summer Skin Pack and it includes three new skins for Baraka, Erron Black, and Kitana. There are Summer related themes to this as Baraka is wearing a Chef's hat, apron, and has a string of sausages attached to him, Erron Black has put on his Uncle Sam costume and Kitana looks very summery in her new outfit.

This skin set definitely looks interesting and probably not what anyone was expecting, I know there are some complaints from fans saying that the skins look too silly or they'd rather not have these sorts of skins and would prefer to see more MK9 related skin variations for characters.

I personally like it, it shows that Netherrealm have a sense of humour and it's good to see different verities of a characters costume and further expand the imagination of the player.

Here's a quick look at what else is to come over the next few months:

Two new skin sets - Klassic Femme Fatale Skin pack is coming on the 25th August and a new Halloween skin pack will be coming in October.

So all to get excited for.

Summer Skin Pack will be available on Thursday 6th August from 6pm BST.

NEW VIDEOS FROM SEPTEMBER 2020

With the excitement of Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath expansion pack being released and a shed load of new content becoming available to players, now is a good time to be a Mortal Kombat fan.

Speaking from experience, I have loved the Aftermath expansion story mode and really enjoyed playing it and I've been having a lot of fun with Robocop, Fujin, and Sheeva they are by far three of the most exciting and enjoyable characters I think I have played from any DLC so far from Mortal Kombat and Injustice games put together.

So today's post is about new gameplay content coming to my channel from July.

I hope you all enjoyed Batch 4 of Character Towers. They seem to be very well received so thank you to everyone who has stuck with me and watched those.

Mortal Kombat 11 - Kombat League Seasons So Far : Part One - Seasons 9 - 11

Mortal Kombat 11 - Kombat League Seasons So Far :

Part Three - Seasons 9 - 11

Hi and welcome back to the final part of Kombat League seasons so far.

Finishing off the blog series with my thoughts on my experience playing kombat league so far from seasons 9 - 11.

Season 12 is due to start on Tuesday (tomorrow) it'll be live from 4:30pm / 5pm so without any further delay I start this blog post with season 9.

SEASON 9: The Season of Lost Souls (March / April 2020)

This was an interesting one as I thought all the skins in this season were white and silver with a green highlight which illuminated and glows and really stands out from everything else.

The characters they chose were an interesting choice, Kitana, Kung Lao, Raiden, and Cetrion. Probably not the four I would have chosen but none the less, I missed out on the Kung Lao revenants reborn skin so to own a skin in his revenant costume and normal skin appealed to me, even is he did have green eyes.

Even though there had been two other Kitana skins previous to this season released, I didn't take part or wasn't fortunate enough to earn those skins, so this was my first opportunity to earn a Kitana skin in kombat league.

Raiden looked cool because of the green lightening which shows in his intro and exit victory poses with this skin.

Cetrion, wasn't too bothered about her. She was my least favourite of the set so when I saw the ladder and that she was at the top, I wasn't too bothered by this.

My goal was to make sure I got Raiden, Kitana, and Kung Lao and realistically this was a doable task as all I had to do was complete all the season challenges and get to at least champion rank. But this was at a time when lockdown had started and I was working from home and I had time on my hands to play Mortal Kombat a bit more than usual.

Through playing more, I became much more efficient at being able to identify players character traits and how they would use their character strengths against me. It's good to have a keen eye and watch out for tactics or any special moves the opponent is likely to spam you with or do a lot of as an easy way out. You can spot such traits with Scorpion and Sub Zero players.

With this in mind, I was able to outsmart my opponents and win more matches, which earned me more points and meant I could climb the ranks even higher, and with consistency I earned the rank of Master. It was then I noticed a nice hammer accessory for Shao Kahn which I could have if I got to Grand Master rank at the end of the season. So I practiced some more in scenarios I thought I was likely to have and with a bit of luck and persistence I exceeded all expectations of any kombat league season I had played up until that point.

This season taught me that if you exceed yourself, have a bit of perseverance, luck, skill, and above all patience, you can achieve your goals. I realised I had the potential in me to be Grand Master rank and I am good at playing Mortal Kombat. I may not be the best player in the world, but I do enjoy it and I do want to get better at the game whilst climbing the ranks at the same time.

SEASON 10 - Season of Shadows (April / May 2020)

Why there wasn't a Noob Saibot skin for this season baffles me. It's like not having a Kollector skin for Season 8.

In this, players could win new skins for Scorpion, Skarlet, Frost, and Liu Kang.

I was only interested in one and that was Scorpion.

I wasn't as engaged with this season as I had been with others that had happened previously. This is due to lack of motivation and the rewards you could get just didn't appeal to me personally.

So for that reason, I wasn't playing as much and with Scorpion not being very difficult to get I did what I could to make sure I got that skin and then after that I didn't play that much. I started off well but due to point decay I ranked down badly and lost lots of points so finished up at Champion rank which I'm a little disappointed about.  Oh well.

SEASON 11 - SEASON OF ORDER (June 2020)

This is the season that has just gone.

Order realm season which included skins for Jax, Jacqui Briggs, D'Vorah and Baraka.

I wanted Jax and Jacqui the most, and Baraka skin I thought looked nice but was my added bonus for this season. Sometimes with a kombat league season, I have two seasons I really want and then a third is my added bonus.

Turns out if I wanted to get this added bonus, I'd have to get to at least demi god rank. I was annoyed to see Baraka at the top of the ladder and D'Vorah in the middle. If only it was the other way around.

My overall experience of this season was positive and I've learnt a lot of things about kombat league and the people who play it. I won more sets than I lost and I got off to a very promising start reaching Master rank in a week of the season starting.

It then took me a week to get from Master to Grand Master, and then there was a lot of back and forth of ranking up and ranking down and ranking up again. The challenge only gets harder the higher you move up the ladder.

For instance if you reach Grand Master and want to get to Demi God, you need to earn a thousand more points from where you are to get to the god ranks at the top. Something I think should be reserved for when you get to the god ranks. As it is the very best players that are going to be aiming for the very top and likely to proceed further, doesn't seem very fair for players to have to work even harder to get to Demi God rank after working hard enough to get to Grand Master.

I did give up on the prospect of wanting to reach Demi God rank, and that would probably be the moment where you could say I failed because as soon as you give up and decide this isn't worth doing anymore, you have pulled the plug on that journey. Motivation and enjoyment went and all I wanted to do was make sure all my efforts didn't go to waste. I had to stay at Grand Master rank. Which I managed to do with a bit of luck and persistence.

This wraps up my experiences of playing kombat league so far.

A new season starts tomorrow and I'll have all the details on that once they get released.
